Enrolling at ABS at Borough and Lagmhor

New Enrolments at ABS

At ABS, we want your child's transition into school to be as smooth as possible.  The first step is to check that you live in our school zone, then we welcome you to visit our school to ensure we are the right fit for you and your child. We have some space for out-of-zone enrolments, please check with the office if this is the case. 

Complete enrolment form, here on our ABS website.  Our Secretary will receive and acknowledge the enrolment. Mrs Anna Harper (Borough) or Miss Melissa Joyce (Lagmhor) will contact you to discuss transition for your child 6-8 weeks prior to your child starting school.  Generally, we book 4 visits. The first two are morning visits from 8:55 am -12:30 pm. The second two visits are full days from 8:55 am - 2:55pm. We try to be as flexible as possible to suit your choice of days. 

During visits, your child will:

• Meet their teacher.
• Get to know their classmates and find new or old friends.
• Explore the classroom and find what is available.
• Join in and learn the class routines.
• Get to know the playground and areas of play outside.

Here are some things for you to consider prior to your child beginning school.

Ideally your child will be able to:

• Go to the toilet independently.
•  Be able to dress themselves- take their own jersey on and off.
• Take their own shoes on and off.
• Recognise their written name.
• Follow simple one step instructions.

These things are not necessary, but they make for a much more successful start to school.

Documentation

You will need to provide the originals of your child’s birth certificate, immunisation certificate, evidence of living in our zone (we do not accept Rates demands), any relevant custody arrangements, and any relevant visa and residency documents.   

 

Year 1 – 8 Enrolments

The first step is to check that you live in our School zone. Please see the map.
Follow the enrolment tab link on our ABS website.  Our Secretary will receive and acknowledge the enrolment. Our Principal will contact you to discuss your child’s enrolment. You are welcome to visit our school prior to the enrolment to view our day to day life at ABS. 

You will need to provide originals of your child’s birth certificate, immunisation certificate, evidence of living in zone (we do not accept rates demands), any relevant custody arrangements and any relevant visa and residency documents.
