Borough Library Vision - Our School Library aims to be;

inviting, interesting, relevant, challenging and child centred

The role of the library 

The students will be able to;

  • read for information and enjoyment
  • develop essential information skills
  • access a wide range of information via print and electronic media
  • apply skills learnt to other situations.  
 

 

 

The library will;

  • encourage participation by our school community
  • encourage reading for
    pleasure
  • support the curriculum and classroom programmes.
 

Library staff;

The school library is efficiently managed by Mrs Keryn Hickman who works  in the library Monday to Thursday to assist children and their teachers with literacy work, research information and select reading books for enjoyment.

 

Computer Suite; 

In addition to networked classroom computers, Borough School has invested in a library suite of fourteen desktop computers, as part of it's development of Inquiry learning and Information literacy.

 

 

New Books

Mrs Hickman is responsible for purchasing and processing new books for the library and is always happy to field suggestions from keen readers for quality books to purchase for the collection. Write your ideas in the library suggestion book or talk to Mrs Hickman.
