ICT
| Ashburton Borough School promotes a range of ICT opportunities for students. We aim to integrate ICT tools into classroom programmes, in an authentic learning context wherever appropriate. As an example; junior children use ICT tools to brainstorm, scribe, illustrate and share their writing, middle school children have been involved in teleconference and email discussions for LEARNZ, senior children use video cameras and movie | ![]() |
A number of classrooms have an online presence, using blogs and wikis to develop a more ‘global’ learning setting.
Every teaching space has a data projector, camera and desktop computers. A pod of laptops is taken to classes to supplement classroom ICT tools, as needed. In addition we have a suite of desktop computers integrated into our library setting to allow for a range of research methods, and to encourage the use of both print and electronic media in our learning activities.
Borough school students and teachers take part in a cluster Expo biannually to celebrate and showcase engaging learning using ICT tools.
