Sports Club

Ashburton Borough School Sports Club was incorporated to provide opportunity for children to participate with their school friends in sport outside of the school programme. Currently sports under the umbrella of the Ashburton Borough School Sports Club are:-

 

Netball Mini-Ball  
Basketball T-Ball  
Softball Soccer  

Objects

The objects for which the Club is established shall be the fostering, development and control of the games of netball, basketball, mini-ball, softball, tee-ball, football and rippa-rugby within the Sports Club.

Membership

The membership of the Club shall consist of:

  1. Children who presently attend or have attended Borough School
  2. Member of the club duly elected in accordance with this constitution
  3. At the managements discretion a non Borough student may be included in Ashburton Borough Sports Club teams where appropriate.

The inclusion of said student cannot disadvantage the placement of a Borough student. In any given situation factors to take into consideration may include: ability, age, social appropriateness and parental input.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions for members of the Ashburton Borough Sports Club shall be such sum as shall be fixed by the Club Management at the appropriate times throughout the year which will cover individual association levies, administration costs and maintenance of equipment and uniforms.

Colours

Netball

  1. Club uniform will be red shirt, blue skirt.  Designations shall be red with blue lettering.
  2. The club shall now be phasing out these colours and phasing in red with black side panel tops and red with black side panel skirts.  Designations shall be red with white lettering.  Boys will wear black shorts.

Basketball

Club uniform will be red singlet with black numbers, black shorts.

Miniball

Club uniform will be red singlet with black numbers, black shorts.

Softball

Club uniform will be red polo shirt, black shorts

Tee-ball

Club uniform will be red polo shirt, black shorts

Football

Club uniform will be red shirt with black collar, black shorts, black socks with red hoops.

Rippa-rugby

  1. Club uniform will be red polo shirt, black shorts
  2. The colour of socks worn by a team shall be uniform and footwear, if possible, shall be uniform as to the main colour of the shoe.

Management

The management of the Club shall be vested in the Committee

  1. The officers of the Club shall consist of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer
  2. Such other sub committees (if any) as may be deemed necessary shall be appointed by any meeting of the committee.
  3. Management consists of chairperson, coordinator and sub committee members of   the sporting code involved
