Ashburton Music Festival

The Borough choir has been actively working towards the Ashburton Music festival for the last term and a half. The festival was this year held at the new Ashburton Event Centre which proved a hit with students and families alike.

Students thoroughly enjoyed performing in the massed choir items, the song 'Mustang Sally' a favorite. Borough's items 'Thank God I'm a Country Boy'

and 'Dare to Dream' were performed very well and warmly received, after many diligent hours of practice.

Coral Workshop

A recent workshop with specialist singing teacher, Mrs Jo Castelow, saw choir members focused, listening well and working very effectively on their singing technique in preparation for the up coming music festivals in Ashburton and Christchurch.

As you can see, if you look closely, there was an extra member in the choir today with Creative, one of the George brothers sitting in to get the benefit of Mrs C's wisdom. Rumour has it that he has a great love of dramatic musical productions and that he is hoping for a part in a school musical at some stage in the course of the year.
